Alpine Antics
Directed by Jack King
Release Date:
January 18, 1936
Main Character(s):
Beans, Little Kitty
Summary:
Beans enters a skiing race against a cheating villain.
That’s Not All, Folks:
The villain resembles Mickey Mouse’s nemesis, Pete. He also has the same voice actor, Billy Bletcher (who often voiced villainous characters).
One of the participants in the race resembles Porky Pig.
What I Like About This One:
The singing snowman trio at the beginning melting when they stand in front of a fire.
The funniest scene is when someone tries to pour hot tea into the cracked part of a frozen lake. However, that is not enough to make the water hot as when he dives in, he emerges encased in a block of ice.
Three characters all on two large ice skates built for three (their sweaters read “S”, “O”, and “S” respectively).
Beans breaking apart Little Kitty’s sled to use for skis (Little Kitty doesn’t seem to mind this).
The contraptions that the participants use in the race.
