The Booze Hangs High

Directed by Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising

Release Date:

November 1930 (release date unconfirmed)

Main Character(s):

Bosko

Summary:

Bosko makes music with farm animals, such as dancing with a cow and playing a horse’s tail like a violin. The cartoon climaxes with Bosko accidentally getting drunk with a trio of pigs.

That’s Not All, Folks:

The title card of this cartoon is revealed to be the cow’s udder. This same joke was also used in one of the first Mickey Mouse cartoons, “Plane Crazy” (1928).

What I Like About This One:

Bosko playing the horse’s tail like the violin was pretty clever.

I also liked the scene where the largest pig attempts to sing “One Little Drink”.
