Bosko's Picture Show
Directed by Hugh Harman
Release Date:
August 26, 1933
Main Character(s):
Bosko, Honey
Summary:
At a movie theater, Bosko is the host of the program that includes a singalong, newsreels, and a melodrama starring Honey and a villain named Dirty Dalton.
That’s Not All, Folks:
This is the last Bosko cartoon, the last Honey cartoon, and the last Warner Bros. cartoon directed by Hugh Harman.
The cartoon is rather infamous for a use of profanity (hint: it can be heard at the 5:53 mark).
What I Like About This One:
The title card crossfading into the marquee above the theater.
The random sound effects coming from Bosko’s organ.
On the newsreel, a “peace conference” turns out to actually be a fight.
A Laurel and Hardy spoof having the first letters of their last names switched (“Haurel and Lardy”).
