That’s Not All, Folks:

This is the last of two Egghead cartoons to not be directed by Tex Avery.

Incidentally, Avery voices the referee in this cartoon, making this an instance where he voices a character in a cartoon he didn’t direct.

This is the only color Hardaway and Dalton cartoon to not have a musical segment.

What I Like About This One:

Egghead air-mailing his check to the boxing school via an airplane in his mailbox.

An elderly mailman arriving immediately and commenting that he would’ve arrived sooner if the bridge wasn’t out.

The guy on the record talking back to Egghead when he doesn’t strike the correct pose: “I said, ‘chest out’!”

When Egghead is instructed to take a deep breath, he has to hold it while the guy on the record talks on the phone!

The punching bag continuing to swing around after the guy on the record says “That’ll be all for today”. When he realizes the bag is still swinging, he says in a more agitated tone, “I said ‘that’ll be all for today’”. He then yells, “STOP PUNCHING THAT BAG!” so Egghead shoots the bag.

Egghead having some sort of machine with five different boxing gloves labeled “right jab”, “left jab”, “right hook”, “left hook”, and “haymaker”.

Egghead getting knocked out by the haymaker before leaving for the city.

The referee going into uncontrollable laughter when he is introducing Egghead (animated by Gil Turner).

Biff Stew blowing on his glove to punch Egghead.

When Egghead is knocked back into his corner, his record says “Remember, you’re fighting for dear old ACME!”

Biff Stew causing Egghead to stretch towards the audience (as seen in the screenshot used).

Egghead biting Biff Stew in the leg, and causing him to crash through the ring and take the canvas with him.

Egghead waking up in his makeshift gym, revealing the whole thing to have been just a dream! Egghead then throws out all his boxing equipment. As he walks away, the haymaker from the machine once again socks him in the face.
