Why Do I Dream Those Dreams
Directed by Friz Freleng
Release Date:
June 30, 1934
Main Character(s):
None
Summary:
A take-off on the story of Rip Van Winkle.
That’s Not All, Folks:
This video on YouTube reveals what Mrs. Van Winkle is saying (go to the 2:38 mark)!
This is the first time “There’s No Place Like Home” is used in a Warner Bros. cartoon (although here it’s used ironically as it plays after Rip is thrown out).
The animation of the toy ducks dancing from “Beauty and the Beast” returns here, albeit with the dwarfs taking the place of the ducks.
What I Like About This One:
Rip’s dog going back to the house to blow a raspberry at the missus.
The “Nothing Worries Me” song was pretty good.
Rip’s attempt to fish with a mousetrap on the hook.
Dwarfs having their oversized belts fit them when they gain weight from guzzling beer.
