Summary:

A flower pageant and parade is going on various plants having their own floats. When a fire breaks out, it’s an outsider, a cactus who was the laughing stock of the parade, that saves the day.

This was the first Warner cartoon to be in full Technicolor, the last cartoon with the curtains intro and closing, and the last cartoon with the jester saying “That’s all folks!”

A soap box reads, “Pierce’s Pine and Tar Soap”, which is a reference to storyman Tedd Pierce.

A weed is caricatured as Harpo Marx.

What I Like About This One:

A kissing bee couple getting exposed when the flower they’re in blooms.

Flowers being used as trumpets and a large speaker.

Bees playing on turtles like drums.

Scottish weeds dancing to “The Campbells are Coming”.

A snail running super fast after one of the flames burns his behind.

The music that plays when the snail runs and when the cactus runs from the fire.

The cactus using watermelons to extinguish the fire.

The ending with a grasshopper spitting to put out the very last flame.
