Summary:
Peter Rabbit is left to babysit his baby brother, Elmer, but Elmer’s bratty attitude annoys him so much, he leaves. This gives a hungry weasel the chance to kidnap Elmer and try to make him his lunch. Remembering that he promised his mother he’d look after Elmer, Peter goes to rescue him.
That’s Not All, Folks:
This was the first cartoon to have the MPAA number on the opening titles.
Along with “Country Boy”, this is the other cartoon that parodies Peter Rabbit.
What I Like About This One:
Peter is more likable here than in “Country Boy” as he goes to save his little brother from the weasel.
Peter attempting to entertain Elmer by singing the title tune.
After the song fails to impress Elmer, Peter angrily throws his hat on the ground, but it keeps landing back on his head.
The sinister theme of the weasel (which is played after Peter leaves).
Elmer proving he’s not completely helpless by pulling on the weasel’s nose.
The entire chase sequence.
The weasel’s comeuppance.
