Porky Pig

Summary:

While trying to catch up with some tourists on a tour of Egypt, Porky Pig’s camel, Humpty Bumpty, gets the “Desert Madness” and has all sorts of crazy hallucinations.

That’s Not All, Folks:

This is the first cartoon to include a joke on comedian Lew Lehr where someone would imitate him and say “(insert type of species here) is the cwaziest peoples!” In this case, it’s camels.

Humpty Bumpty does Hugh Herbert’s laugh at one point.

What I Like About This One:

A sexy harem unveiling her face to reveal an ugly one (animated by John Carey).

A fakir who can withstand having multiple pins and knives through him and sitting on a bed of spikes reacting wildly after he swallows fire (animated by Izzy Ellis).

A multi-humped camel seating all the tourists and pulling a trailer with two more humps for two skunks (animated by Robert Cannon).

The sun heating up as if it were angry and then breathing fire (animated by Norm McCabe).

The sun’s rays turning into a fist that punches Humpty Bumpty (animated by Ellis).

The background swirling around as Humpty Bumpty hears weird voices saying his name over and over again (animated by McCabe).

Humpty Bumpty going insane as he goes into a rendition of “Charge of the Light Brigade” and imagining a parade of camels coming to the rescue hysterically sobs, “The camels are coming!” He then dresses in a Scottish outfit and plays “The Campbells are Coming” on bagpipes (animated by McCabe).

Porky seeing a swimming pool that turns out to be a mirage, causing him to dive headfirst into the sand. Humpty Bumpty then pulls him out and kisses him before doing an imitation of Lew Lehr and saying “Camels is the cwaziest peoples!” (animated by Carey).

Hitting a tree restoring Humpty Bumpty’s sanity (animated by Carey), but then he hears the voices again and runs with Porky (animated by Ellis) all the way to a town and enter a place where he shuts several doors behind him (animated by Carey). But the “Desert Madness” has also warped Porky’s mind and he dances around wackily while donning a Napoleon hat (animated by McCabe).
