That’s Not All, Folks:

This marks the official end of the “Porky dominating the Looney Tunes” era. Although he would still appear in several more cartoons, he would no longer be the number 1 star.

This is also Jones’ last black and white cartoon.

The restored print uses the incorrect opening theme.

The ant resembles the pygmy ant from “Porky’s Ant” and “Porky’s Midnight Matinee”.

What I Like About This One:

Conrad pouring out batter and flipping pancakes to the tune of “Gavotte” but when the pancakes don’t land on cue, it turns out that they’re on the top of Conrad’s chef hat.

Porky first serves the customer alphabet soup by depositing letters from a typewriter into a soup bowl.

After the customer asks for a very strange order (“a combination sandwich with cheese liverwurst, lettuce and tomato salami sauerkraut peanut butter mustard pickle relish and mayonnaise on whole wheat toast”), Porky runs off to make it, before the customer requests “Hold the onions”. Porky comes back to say “Yes, sir”, the customer also requests to “Step on it”. Porky comes back to say “Yes, sir” again (animated by Robert Cannon; I mostly point out Cannon’s scenes because his work is very easy to identify).

The customer compressing his strange sandwich down so it can fit in his mouth, only for it to spring back up inside his stomach, making his neck look accordion-like.

Meanwhile, Conrad has trouble with a pancake with legs (actually the ant who got stuck in the cake batter) who jumps around in pain on top of the hot stove. Conrad attempts to slap it down but accidentally presses his whole hand down on the stove! (He screams “YIPE!”)

The customer now orders a T-bone steak. Porky goes to a filing cabinet where he has cutouts of every letter in the alphabet and cuts a steak in the shape of the letter “T”. When he puts it on the stove, it gets shrunk to a lowercase “t”.

Porky then turns on a machine labeled “egg fryer” where a mechanical hand chokes a chicken into laying an egg, the egg gets stamped for approval (“Ok”), and the yolk is then fried.

Conrad getting so frustrated with the “walking pancake” that he starts to take a deep breath and count to 10 very agitated. He then attempts to swat at it to no avail. The ant runs off and Conrad chases after it at the same time Porky is bringing in a huge wedding cake. Conrad runs into Porky causing him to lose his balance, and stumble across several tables while still carrying the cake. Conrad, Porky, and the ant all crash into the customer. The impact results in a peeved Porky lying down with an apple in his mouth, resembling a roast, while Conrad and the customer pop out of the cake. On top of the cake, the ant is standing in the place of the groom, linking arms with the bride.
