As many of you know from me, Robert McKimson saved nearly all of the animator drafts for the cartoons that he directed (from when he became a director in 1946 up until the original studio’s closure in 1964) and nearly all of these have been available to view online (ones that hadn’t been posted on Cartoon Research but are fully available to view first popped up online in the fall of 2020). Unfortunately, a few that exist aren’t available to view online (which is an absolute bummer since drafts confirm who animated what scene in specific cartoons). So, for this special Saturday post, I decided to make a complete list for all of McKimson’s pre-1965 cartoons (this will NOT count as the official post for McKimson when I eventually do index posts on the characters and directors as I am doing them after I get through ALL of the cartoons first as the whole point of those will be providing links to specific cartoons from a specific character or director), and dividing them based on whether their drafts are available to view or not (hopefully though some of those drafts will finally pop up online in full when I eventually reach a few of those specific cartoons. If they pop up after I’ve talked about a specific cartoon, I will do a special Saturday post the weekend after it pops up, like I do with a few of Bob Clampett’s cartoons, as a good number of drafts for his cartoons have been popping up periodically since the fall of 2022):
