Main Character(s):

Porky Pig

Summary:

On Porky Pig’s radio program of animals telling unusual stories, Irish champion mouse catcher “Kansas City Kitty” tells a tale of when she was tormented by a gang of hoodlum mice who threatened to kill her child if she did anything to them.

That’s Not All, Folks:

Once again, Porky is only seen in the opening and ending scenes.

Kitty’s voice is based on the character of Molly from the radio program “Fibber McGee and Molly”.

In one scene, one of the mice draws a Hitler mustache (as well as his hair) on a picture of Kitty on their map of the kitchen.

What I Like About This One:

A rabbit has just finished his “hare-raising” story about how he took the gun from the hunter pursuing him and shot him.

Kitty being introduced by Porky as a “pussycat with an unusual tale”.

When the flashback begins, Kitty is even shown to be fearsome as a kitten!

Kitty initially says her child, Patrick, was born before she was married to her husband, Tom, before correcting herself.

The hoodlum mice’s map of the kitchen has several things labeled rather amusingly: the stove is labeled “Burny Burny”, the sink is labeled as “Little Drip” (complete with a “Slippery When Wet” sign), and the fridge is labeled as “Yum Yum”.

One of the mice is actually horrified at the idea of killing Patrick and shouts in a Brooklyn accent, “Why, THAT’S MURDER!” before everyone else puts their hands on his mouth to shut him up.

Three of the mice getting scared and then timidly creeping when they suspect that Kitty is waking up from a snooze.

Just as Kitty starts to chase them when they abduct a sleeping Patrick, one of the mice resorts to lifting up the wall after failing to enter the door to the hole in time.

Now at their mercy, Kitty is forced to put up with the mice’s torment such as them using her tail as a jump rope and using her whiskers as pulling suspenders (all the while singing in a taunting manner to the tune of “Iola”).

Patrick eventually breaks loose from being tied up, and upon seeing he’s safe, Kitty gets her revenge by tormenting all of the mice at once.

In the end, Porky applauds Kitty for her story and gives her a present. It’s a mouse, which causes Kitty to jump onto a toll and scream like a terrified housewife. Confused at this behavior, the mouse says in an Irish accent, “Well, faith’n’me jabbers!” as a shamrock-shaped iris out ends the cartoon.
