Those Were Wonderful Days
Directed by Bernard Brown
Release Date:
April 28, 1934
Main Character(s):
None
Summary:
This cartoon takes place in the 1890’s. The first half is a gala picnic, while the second half is another “boy rescues girl from villain” plot.
That’s Not All, Folks:
This was the last of two cartoons directed by musical director Bernard Brown.
This cartoon has the villain giving the “That’s all folks!” sendoff.
What I Like About This One:
The chorus of the title song with the barbershop quartet and “Lillian Bussle” was quite catchy.
The fighters on a “Kilrain and Sullivan” picture doing a dance and then knocking each other out.
A guy eating his lunch on top of a large woman’s hat.
The gags in the “Fancy Diving Contest” scene (with the same chorus from the same cartoon being heard in the scene).
The twist ending.
